COVER ART
Galerie Stihl Waiblingen until 16 October 2022

As part of the Cover Art exhibition, there is a focus on the LP sleeves that Willy Fleckhaus designed during his time at twen. The records were published in cooperation with Philips. In the beginning, the sleeves often feature works by artists from the Concrete Art movement, later to be joined by contemporary photographs and drawings. In addition to Fleckhaus’ works, the exhibition features works by pioneer Alex Steinweiss, the inventor of the individually designed album cover. There are also focal points on Klaus Voormann, Anton Corbijn, Blue Note Records and Emil Schult.

The twen covers in the exhibition are by HP Bushoff, a longtime collector of the series who also maintains an excellent site on the subject.
A catalog of the same name has been published for the exhibition, which contains the contribution Tonangebend. Über das Design der Schallplattenhüllen von Willy Fleckhaus für das Magazin twen by Carsten Wolff.
